Nutrition, with context.
A useful starting point, with the assumptions in plain sight.
What the numbers mean
Each recipe shows energy in kilocalories, protein, carbohydrates, fat, fibre and total sugar in grams, and sodium in milligrams. Values refer to one listed portion: the recipe ingredient totals divided by the stated yield. For a batch of 12 cookies with a yield of 12, one portion means one cookie.
How the estimates are made
We assign listed ingredients approximate generic nutrient profiles per 100 grams, convert spoon, volume and count measurements to estimated edible weights, sum the ingredients, and divide by the yield. Optional ingredients are included. Carbohydrates include fibre; total sugar is not the same as added sugar. Unknown ingredients are not treated as nutrient-free: totals are withheld when less than 90% of ingredient mass has a usable profile.
Why your meal may differ
These are illustrative estimates, not laboratory results or verified nutrition labels. The local food profiles are approximate and are not direct matches to recorded USDA food IDs. Brands, portion size, ingredient substitutions, drained fat, retained oil, cooking-water losses and evaporation can change the result substantially. Batch controls change ingredient amounts, while nutrition remains per portion.
AI recipe drafts
For newly requested recipes, the AI estimates nutrition from its proposed ingredients and serving yield. Those numbers have not been independently validated. All recipes need kitchen testing and nutrition review before any accuracy claim is made.
Reference method
USDA FoodData Central documentation describes food-composition measurements and portion calculations. This is a methodological reference; our generic profile table is not a downloaded USDA dataset.
